QUEENS, NY - CHAMP NEEDS DONATIONS PLEASE!!!!! SEVERE MANGE!!!!!

THIS HAS BEEN A STORY AND A HALF….
MY GOOD FRIENDS PHYLLIS, LAURA AND JENN RESCUED
THIS NEGLECTED AND VERY SICK BOY FROM A KILL SHELTER IN NEW YORK. HE WAS LEFT UNTREATED
FOR MORE THAN 3 DAYS!!!!! AFTER FIGHTING TO SAVE HIM, FRIDAY NIGHT WE WERE THAN TOLD HE
WAS EUTHANIZED. WE ALL FELL APART AND COULD NOT BELIEVE OUR BEAUTIFUL BOY WAS GONE.
AFTER CALLING SEVERAL TIMES AND GETTING SOMEONE DIFF. ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SHELTER,
WE WERE TOLD HE WAS STILL THERE, ALL ALONE AND STILL UNTREATED!!!!

AT THIS POINT, IT WAS TOO LATE TO GO AND GET HIM OUT OF THERE FRIDAY NIGHT SO ANOTHER
DAY OF TORTURE WENT BY FOR POOR CHAMP. SATURDAY MORNING HE WAS FREED AND VERY, VERY
SICK FROM THE LACK OF TREATMENT AND LOVE BY PEOPLE WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO CARE.

PLEASE, IF YOU HAVE EVEN A DOLLAR, IT WOULD HELP JENN BRING CHAMP BACK TO HEALTH.
THIS IS GOING TO COST A FORTUNE BUT HE DESERVES TO FEEL BETTER AND TO LIVE A LONG
AND COMFY LIFE!!!!

HUGS TO ALL AND THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!!

PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN SCROLLING DOWN TO SEE HIM – IT IS A VERY BAD PICTURE.

UPDATE ON CHAMP

AFTER VISITING WITH THIS BABY TODAY, I AM BEYOND HUMBLE.

THE SUFFERING AND PAIN THIS PUPPY IS GOING THROUGH IN HIS SHORT 6 MONTHS OF LIFE,
NO ONE SHOULD HAVE IN A LIFETIME. IN MY 10 YEARS OF RESCUE, I HAVE NEVER SEEN A
CASE OF DEMODECTIC MANGE WITH SECONDARY SKIN INFECTIONS THIS SEVERE.

HE WAS FOUND ON THE STREET, AND SAT IN THE SHELTER FOR HIS MANDATORY 3 DAY STRAY
HOLD, WITHOUT ANY PAIN MANAGEMENT.

ON SATURDAY MORNING, JEN PICKED HIM UP FROM THE SHELTER AND CALLED ME CRYING AS
SOON AS SHE GOT IN THE CAR WITH HIM. WHEN THEY ARRIVED AT VILLAGE ANIMAL CLINIC,
DR. ZUCKERMAN IMMEDIATELY PUT HIM ON IV FLUIDS, WITH PAIN MEDICATION (MORPHINE AS
NEEDED) ANTIBIOTICS, ETC. THE DR. WAS EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT CHAMP BECOMING
SEPTIC (BLOOD INFECTION), WHICH WOULD BE DEADLY.

AFTER VISITING WITH THE DR. ON CALL TODAY, SHE WAS A LITTLE MORE OPTOMISTIC ABOUT
CHAMPS RECOVERY. SHE WAS TRULY IMPRESSED WITH THE SWEET TEMPERAMENT OF CHAMP AND
ADMIRED HIM FOR THIS CONSIDERING HIS SEVERE CONDITION.

CHAMP REMEMBERED JEN, AND GENTLY LICKED HER WHEN SHE SAT NEXT TO HIM. THE VET STAFF
SAID IT WAS THE FIRST TIME SINCE SATURDAY HE SHOWED ANY KIND OF EMOTION. HE EVEN
PLACED HIS PAW ON HER ARM SO SHE WOULD CONTINUE PETTING HIM AND STAY CLOSE TO HIM.

WITH ALL THE DRUGS THIS BABY IS ON, I FIND IT AMAZING THAT HE EVEN KNEW WHO JEN WAS.
HE WAS TRULY THANKFUL AND APPRECIATIVE TO JEN FOR BEING HIS SAVING ANGEL.

THIS IS WHAT RESCUE IS ALL ABOUT. THIS IS WHAT MAKES US GO ON TO HELP ANOTHER DOG
IN NEED. THE FEELING YOU GET WHEN YOU LOOK INTO THOSE SAD EYES AND YET, WITH NO
WORDS SPOKEN, YOU RECEIVE THE MOST SINCERE THANK YOU, FROM HIS HEART TO YOURS.

IF YOU KNOW ANYONE THAT WOULD LIKE TO DONATE TOWARDS CHAMP'S MEDICAL BILL,
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PASS THIS ON.

This is a update on Champ as of received Email 10/05/2008

Hi everyone,
Champ has been in his foster home for two weeks now! He looks so much better.
Thank you everyone for the items that were sent to Champ this week, and the donations.
Champ is being fed by hand, 3x a day, because of his food agression. He has learned
exactly where to sit when he is ready for his breakfast, lunch, dinner. Champ
enjoys being outside and playing with my boys, for short periods of time. He is
almost completely house broken, and crate trained! He is starting to get some baby
fine hair growing on his back. The hair that is coming in on his right hind leg looks
like it is going to be brindle! Which he has no brindle hair anywhere else on him.
Im anxious to see what this is going to look like~
Thanks again everyone for everything that you have done!
